The Kedarkantha trek is a trekker’s paradise, showcasing the unspoiled beauty of the Uttarakhand region. Starting from the quaint village of Sankri, the trail winds through dense pine forests, charming meadows, and high-altitude campsites, each offering a unique perspective of the Himalayan panorama.
The highlight of the Kedarkantha trek is, undoubtedly, the summit itself. Standing tall at 12,500 feet, Kedarkantha offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including the Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak. As the first light of dawn bathes the snow-capped landscape in hues of pink and gold, trekkers are rewarded with a breathtaking spectacle that remains etched in their memories.

How to Reach
**Take the night train/ Volvo from Delhi to Dehradun.
**You can reach Dehradun Railway Station around 5:00 am to 6:00 am, vehicles will be arranged and there you can meet our office member.
(We will arrange vehicles for you from Dehradun Railway Station Pickup and Drop Tempo Traveler 13+ D ) or bolero taxi
ATM Point & Mobile connectivity
ATM POINT: Withdraw money before your journey, Purola is the last point where you will find ATM.
(If you want to withdraw money then do it in Dehradun.)
Mobile Connectivity: There will be no networks during the trek, in Purola your device will receive the networks and at Sankri only Vodafone and BSNL signals are there but you cannot rely on the connectivity because the signal strength is not good. So make sure you finish all your important work and calls before starting of the trek.

Short Itinerary Kedarkantha Trek -2023-2024
Day 1– Pickup from Dehradun Railway Station and Drive to Sankri (base camp).
Total distance 210 km – 8/9 Hours journey
Mode of journey – By taxi
Altitude – Sankri base camp – 1920 Meters
Night stay – Sankri Hotel – On triple share basis
We organizes transport for trekkers from Dehradun Railway Station in the morning which will leave for Sankri around 6:00 am to 7:00 am approx.
Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and one of the most beautiful places in India. Reach Mussoorie after an hour which is also known as “Queen of Hills”. People visit it heavily during vacations with their family and friends.
After half an hour, stop at kempty fall. Have breakfast there and witness people from different parts of the world. The break will be of maximum 1 hour. Ahead the peaks are visible and further you will come close to holy Yamuna River. If you want, then take a short break of 20 minutes and enjoy being around it.
Reach Mori and after 1 hour you will come across a check post. They will ask for Aadhar cards and some other details. Ahead lies Sankri, enjoy the drive and the wait is soon going to be over. Reach trekkers paradise and the main market of Sankri.
Go to hotel at sakri, freshen up and enjoy evening snacks in the open terrace with great views. You will be provided some details after which you can go for evening walk but be at the hotel for dinner. Enjoy delicious dinner and spend comfortable night in the mountains
Day 2 – Trek from Sankri to Juda ka taal (04 km) (4/5 Hours) (2700 Meters ) night stay camp
Today, the heart warming morning is eagerly waiting for you to wake up. Feel the peace amid the mountains; no connectivity and no materialistic thing is here to disturb you, the only thing is peace.
Relish the hot cup of coffee/tea at 6:00 am and get ready for your breakfast at 7:30 am. You have to strictly leave at 8:30 am after the instructions of your guide
The trek starts from Sankri to Juda ka Talab which is 5 kms away. After a little walk from the main market witness Swargarohini peaks (I, II, III) which will mesmerize you.
After 20 minutes of hike the beautiful Saur village will come into sight, all the houses there are made of wood. Here are home stays which serve delicious organic local food.
As you move further, the forests turn more beautiful. Spot some Himalayan birds and don’t miss the sight of cascading waterfalls. The meadows and these forests are enough to attract anybody.
Some names of the local places are – Goteka, Boiroka ligudiya, Posla, Jainola, Kuwamohli and then Juda Ka Talab.
Juda Ka Taal is today’s destination which is favorite of many trekkers. This lake is present in a forest clearing. It is 100 meters long and the width is 36 m. The water is clear and reflects the surroundings. Camp amid pine trees and enjoy the night there.
Have evening tea/coffee, snacks, soup and explore the area. Dinner will be served after which you can rest for the night.
Day 3 – Trek from Juda ka taal to Kedarkantha base camp trek (3.5 km) (2/3 Hours) (3200 Meters ) ( overnight stay our camp site )
Wake up and peep out of your tents to see if there is snow or the sun is shining. It is important to tell you that one day there is greenery everywhere and the other day it turns all white because of snow. This is reality, and this scenery is heartwarming!
Like other days enjoy tea/ coffee, have breakfast at 7:30 am and leave at 8:30 – 9:00 am. Today, you will be heading towards Kedarkantha base from where Kedarkantha peak is clearly visible.
The distance from Juda ka Talab to Kedarkantha base is 3.5 km which can be easily reached in 2 to 3 hours. Today’s trek is short and comfortable.
Start the trek, cross an ascent, move through the dense forest and suddenly an open meadow will welcome you. Halt there and enjoy great views of the Himalayas.
Move further through pine forest and reach your campsite from where the Kedarkantha peak shines tall and relish the great views! Afterwards enjoy hot lunch. Note: – if you are trekking in winter season then briefing is the most important part and the gaiters and crampons will be provided. So, you have to be ready at 4:30 am wearing them
Day 4 – Trek from Kedarkantha base camp to Kedarkantha summit (12500 Feet) (3800 Meters back to hargaon camp site – 9 km) (5/6 Hours) (2645 Meters)
Today is the main day of your trek, so be ready at 4:30 am in the morning to witness sunrise from Kedarkantha summit. Nothing can be better than watching rising sun from the summit because then the views are jaw dropping. Whoever watches it gets mesmerized.
Light breakfast will be served at 4:30 am then the trek with start. It is important to use headlamps. Trekking in dark is really fun but only with professional guides. Soon you will reach just below the Kedarkantha summit.
The ascent to top is 1.5 km long but the efforts will be worth. Move ahead with everyone and the soft sunrays will fill your heart with joy. When the sun is about to rise, reach the top (3800 m) and capture some of the best moments of your life.
There is the temple of Lord Shiva and Ganesha, seek their blessings and get awe struck by the panorama views of stunning Himalayan peaks. Spend good time with your group and after an hour get ready for the descent.
The descent is going to be fun, slide down with the help of your guides. The sliding point is 2 km long, this is going to be your best experience.
Have lunch on the way, rest for sometime and move towards the campsite for today. Hargaon is a beautiful wide meadow, spend your time here and retire for the night.
Day 5 – Trek from Hargaon camp to Sankri base camp and then to Dheradun ( 210 km ) (8/9 Hours)
Today morning enjoy the breakfast at your last camp of this trek. Start trekking and while descending from Hargaon to Sankri you will come across many view points and ahead reach the apple orchards.
After it reach base camp Sankri and today your stay will be at Swargarohini hotel. You can also buy some local food from here and take uncountable memories with you. Enjoying beautiful life here
Today – It is your last day on this trek with Elite Travellers team. The certificates will be given and after some beautiful photos we will bid you all a goodbye from Sankri.

Cancellation Policy:-
- NON – TRANSFERABLE AND NON – REFUNDABLE
- IF ORGANISERS IS FORCED TO CHANGE OR CANCEL A TRIP AFTER IT HAS STARTED BECAUSE OF EVENTS AND SITUATIONS OUTSIDE ITS CONTROL – “FORCE MAJEURE” – NO COMPENSATION WILL BE PAID
- No Refunds applicable on cancellation before the commencement of the journey.
- If the trip is cancelled due to natural calamities in that case, no refund shall be provided.
- In case of any natural calamity like landslide, heavy rainfall or by any means if the travelers get stuck for extra days anywhere apart from the accommodations and travel schedule mentioned in the above itinerary, the travelers will have to bear their extra expenses.
- It is good to make your booking two months prior in advance. In the event of cancellation of any trek/adventure activity due to any reasons, it is compulsory to notify us in writing. Cancellation charges will only be effective from the date we receive your request in writing.
- If the trek is cancelled by us due to any reason (heavy snowfall, rainfall, natural disaster etc.) then the refund would not be initiated.
